- 6 slices of ham
- 12 slices of cheese (Gruyère or Emmental)
- Butter (for the bread)
- Salt

Instructions
- Butter one side of a slice of bread.
- On an unbuttered slice, place a slice of cheese, followed by a slice of ham, and then another slice of cheese.
- Top with another slice of bread, buttered side out.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and toast each side of the sandwich for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Once golden, cut in half and serve hot.
