A deliciously crispy sandwich filled with melting cheese and savory mushrooms, perfect for gatherings.
Ingredients

- 2 slices of bread (approx. 80 g)
- 2 slices of ham (approx. 60 g)
- 80 g of mushrooms (button or other variety)
- 100 g of cheese (emmental, comté, cheddar, or a mix)
- 2 tablespoons of crème fraîche or béchamel
- 1 tablespoon of butter (for the bread)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your sandwich maker or a skillet over medium heat.
- Sauté the mushrooms in a skillet with a bit of butter until golden.
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- On the unbuttered side of one slice, spread the crème fraîche or béchamel.
- Add ham slices, sautéed mushrooms, and cheese on top of the crème.
- Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side facing outwards.
- Cook in the sandwich maker or skillet until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted.
Notes
Add herbs like thyme or parsley to enhance the mushroom flavor. Experiment with spices for a kick.
