Description

A comforting and delicious casserole combining tender chicken with rich marinara sauce, melted cheese, and perfectly cooked pasta.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups shredded cooked chicken (preferably rotisserie)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups cooked pasta (such as penne or rotini)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add shredded chicken, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine and heat for about 5 minutes until everything is warm.
  3. Combine cooked pasta, marinara sauce, half of the Parmesan, and half of the mozzarella in a mixing bowl. Mix well.
  4. Incorporate the seasoned chicken mixture into the pasta preparation, ensuring everything is evenly distributed.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Top the casserole with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is bubbling and golden.
  9. Allow to cool for a few minutes before garnishing with fresh basil or parsley, if desired.
  10. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to use store-bought rotisserie chicken to save time. For extra creaminess, consider adding a bit of heavy cream to the pasta mixture.
