Description

A delightful dish combining fresh sardines, melting mozzarella, and juicy tomatoes, evoking memories of summer by the sea.

Ingredients

  • Fresh sardines, cleaned
  • Sliced mozzarella
  • Sliced cherry tomatoes or regular tomatoes
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F).
  2. Place the sardines on the baking sheet, flesh side up.
  3. Add a slice of mozzarella and a slice of tomato on each sardine.
  4. Drizzle with olive oil, then season with salt and pepper.
  5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and melted.
  6. Once out of the oven, add fresh basil for garnish.

Notes

For a creamier texture, mix a bit of fresh cream with the mozzarella. Using similarly sized sardines ensures even cooking.
